"Unidos no Samba"

 

More than just a school, Escola de Samba de Manila is a community volunteer group where people of various professions and backgrounds are brought together and are driven by their passion for Samba and Carnaval -- the music, dance, costumes, revelry and the culture.

 

Brazilian Carnaval is very close to the hearts of Filipinos because of the various street fiestas celebrated in the different regions all over the Philippines.

 

Fees collected from members and from shows are treated as donations and go directly to the costs of running the school -- studio rental, costume materials, etc.
